I’ve been teaching IB History for eight years, working mainly with HL students preparing for exams and Internal Assessments. My lessons focus on building strong arguments rather than memorising facts. I particularly enjoy teaching the Cold War because it gives students plenty to debate. We spend time improving essay structure and source analysis so they feel ready for every paper.

Hi! I’m a history graduate who has spent the last few years tutoring IB students online. I like helping learners who feel overwhelmed by the amount of content. We usually break each topic into manageable sections, then practise using past questions together. I also enjoy supporting students with their IA, from choosing a research question to polishing the final draft.

My background is in modern European history, and I have taught IB History since completing my postgraduate studies. Many of my students ask for help with essay planning and Paper 2 comparisons, so those are areas I cover regularly. I aim to make lessons discussion-based while keeping a close eye on the assessment criteria used by the IB.

I started tutoring while I was at university and realised I enjoyed working one-to-one much more than large classrooms. For more than ten years I have prepared students for IB History examinations, with particular emphasis on historical interpretation, evidence evaluation, and effective essay writing. I also provide structured guidance for Internal Assessments, helping students refine research questions and develop balanced arguments while maintaining academic independence throughout the writing process.

I’m someone who genuinely enjoys talking about history, so lessons tend to feel like conversations instead of lectures. I teach IB History only and often work with students who need extra support with writing under timed conditions. Seeing essays become clearer after a few weeks is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me.
